पिछले कई दिनों से सुर्खियां बटोर रहा स्मार्टफोन फ्रीडम 251 आखिरकार बुधवार को लॉन्च हो गया। नई दिल्ली में बीजेपी सांसद मुरली मनोहर जोशी की अध्यक्षता वाले एक इवेंट में कंपनी रिंगिंग बेल्स ने फ्रीडम 251 को ऑफिशियली लॉन्च किया। लॉन्च इवेंट में भारत सरकार की महत्वाकांक्षी योजनाएं डिजिटल इंडिया, स्किल इंडिया और मेक इन इंडिया को फोकस में रखा गया। कंपनी के मुताबिक उसका ध्यान देश के ग्रामीण और कस्बों में रह रहे नागरिकों तक स्मार्टफोन पहुंचाना है।

फोन की चिप को फिलहाल ताइवान से इंपोर्ट किया जाएगा। फोन को पूरी तरह से भारत में ही बनाया जाएगा। कंपनी का लक्ष्य साल के अंत तक इस स्मार्टफोन के हार्डवेयर को 75 प्रतिशत तक भारत में ही बनाने का है। उसके बाद इस फोन के हार्डवेयर को पूरी तरह से भारत में ही विकसित किया जाएगा।

कंपनी के अध्यक्ष अशोक चड्ढा ने बताया कंपनी फिलहाल उत्तराखंड और नोएडा में दो मैन्युफेक्चरिंग प्लांट लगाने पर इनवेस्ट करेगी। उनका लक्ष्य इस पायलट प्रोजेक्ट में 500 करोड़ रुपए लगाने का है। कंपनी हर महीने फ्रीडम 251 की पांच लाख यूनिट बनाने पर जोर लगाएगी। आने वाले वक्त में कंपनी कुल पांच मैन्युफेक्चरिंग यूनिट खोलेगी।
कंपनी ने पुष्टि की कि इस स्मार्टफोन पर सरकार ने किसी तरह की कोई सब्सिडी नहीं दी है और ना ही इसे बनाने में सरकार का किसी तरह का कोई योगदान है। कंपनी आने वाले समय में हर महीने एक करोड़ स्मार्टफोन बेचना चाहती है। लॉन्च इवेंट में बताया गया कि अब तक उसे 2.5 लाख से ज्यादा ऑर्डर मिल चुके हैं। फिलहाल कंपनी को फोन के लिए ऑर्डर लेना बंद करना पड़ेगा।

फ्रीडम 251 में 4 इंच का आईपीएस डिस्प्ले है। हालांकि, अभी इसका रिज़ॉल्यूशन नहीं बताया गया है। फोन में क्वाडकोर एसओसी 1.3 गीगाहर्ट्ज़ प्रोसेसर के साथ 1 जीबी का रैम दिया गया है। इनबिल्ट स्टोरेज 8 जीबी की है जिसे माइक्रोएसडी कार्ड (32 जीबी तक) के जरिए बढ़ाया जा सकता है।

इस स्मार्टफोन में 3.2 मेगापिक्सल का रियर कैमरा है और साथ में 0.3 मेगापिक्सल का फ्रंट कैमरा भी। फोन में 3जी सपोर्ट भी मौजूद है। इस स्मार्टफोन में वाई-फाई कनेक्टिविटी भी दी गई है। बैटरी 1450 एमएएच की है। फोन में पहले से वुमन सेफ्टी, स्वच्छ भारत, फिशरमैन, फार्मर, मेडिकल, गूगल प्ले, व्हाट्सएप, फेसबुक और यूट्यूब जैसे कई एप्लिकेशन पहले से इंस्टॉल होंगे। रिंगिंग बेल्स के मुताबिक, फ्रीडम 251 के साथ एक साल की वारंटी भी मिलेगी। ग्राहकों की मदद के लिए देशभर में कंपनी के 650 से ज्यादा सर्विस सेंटर मौजूद हैं।

इस स्मार्टफोन को 18 फरवरी सुबह 6 बजे से 21 फरवरी तक बुक किया जा सकता है. लेकिन दुनिया के इस सबसे सस्ते फोन को पाने के लिए आपको 30 जून तक इंतजार करना होगा।

लॉन्च इवेंट में सांसद मुरली मनोहर जोशी ने फोन की तारीफ करते हुए कहा, ''यह जरूरी है कि डिजिटल प्रोडक्ट्स को भारत में ही बनाया जाए। जब तक भारत कुछ नया नहीं खोजता और बनाता है तब तक देश उन्नति नहीं कर  सकता। अगर टेक्नोलॉजी महंगी है तो यह यूजलेस है। टेक्नोलोजी ऐसी होनी चाहिए जो मछुआरों से लेकर छात्रों और किसानों तक के काम आ सके। लेकिन सस्ती टेक्नोलॉजी भी ऐसी होनी चाहिए जो काम की हो। ''

कंपनी के मुताबिक, इस फोन के सभी हिस्सों को मिलाकर इस तरह के फोन की कीमत लगभग 2000 रुपये के आसपास होती है, लेकिन मेक इन इंडिया की मदद से हम इसकी लागत में 400 रुपए कम किए। इसके अलावा फोन को ऑनलाइन बेचकर भी हम 400 रुपए बचा पाएंगे। लेकिन जैसे-जैसे फोन की संख्या बढ़ती जाएगी हम आर्थिक तौर पर 400 रुपए और बचा लेंगे। इसके बाद यह एक बड़ा प्लेटफॉर्म होगा। हम ऐसा प्रोडक्ट बेचना चाहते हैं जो ग्राहकों के खरीदने लायक हो। हम एक फोन से बहुत थोड़ा सा ही मुनाफा चाहते हैं।"

इसके साथ ही रिंगिंग बेल्स के निदेशक मोहित गोयल ने कहा, ''यह तो बस शुरुआत है, आने वाले समय में हम अलग-अलग दाम वाले दूसरे हैंडसेट भी बाजार में उतारेंगे। इसके अलावा एक या दो साल में हम बेल्स सिम कार्ड भी लॉन्च करेंगे जिसमें भी कुछ आकर्षक और अनोखे फीचर होंगे।''

pixels resolution. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The smartphone offers 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 32GB using a microSD card.

The smartphone comes equipped with a 3.2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front facing snapper for clicking selfies. Its connectivity attributes include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and packs a 1,450 mAh battery.
